1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the developer of Lucea ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Lucea you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Where you downloaded the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, that store's own terms also apply.
2. Who can use Lucea
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use Lucea only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
3. What Lucea is, and is not
Lucea uses AI to describe visible, cosmetic characteristics of your skin from photos you take, such as hydration, tone and texture, and suggests skincare routines and product checks based on them.
- Not medical advice. Lucea is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, and its results are not a substitute for advice from a doctor or dermatologist.
- Estimates, not measurements. Scores, skin age, heatmaps and suggestions are AI-generated estimates. They depend on lighting, camera and photo quality, and they can be wrong.
- Check before you apply. Patch-test new products, read their labels and follow the manufacturer's directions. Stop using a product if it irritates your skin.
- If you have a skin concern that is painful, spreading, bleeding, changing or worrying you, see a qualified healthcare professional promptly.
4. Subscriptions and free trials
- Plans. Some features need a paid Lucea Pro subscription. The plans, prices and any free-trial length are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm. Prices are set in your local currency by the store.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Google Play or Apple account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (for example each week or each year) at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Free trials. Where a plan includes a free trial (for example 7 days on the yearly plan), you will not be charged during the trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged automatically. A trial is available once per account, and any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Introductory offers. A discounted first period, where offered, renews at the regular price afterwards unless you cancel.
- How to cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. On Android, open Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Lucea → Cancel. On iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Lucea → Cancel. After cancelling, Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds. Payments are handled by Google or Apple, and refund requests follow their policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.
- Restore. Use "Restore" in the app to bring back an active subscription on a new device that uses the same store account.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use Lucea only for your own personal, non-commercial skincare purposes. You must not:
- upload photos of another person without their permission, or photos of anyone under 13;
- upload unlawful, sexual, violent or otherwise inappropriate images;
- use Lucea to identify, track or profile people;
- copy, reverse engineer, scrape or resell the app, its results or its API, or try to get around fair-use limits or payment;
- overload, probe or interfere with our servers, or use automated tools to access them;
- break any applicable law while using the app.
We may limit or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.
6. Your content
Your photos and answers remain yours. You give us a limited permission to process them only to provide the app's features, as described in the Privacy Policy. Photos are processed to create your results and are not stored on our servers.
7. Our app
Lucea, its design, text, illustrations and software belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, in line with these Terms and the store's rules.
8. Changes and availability
We work to keep Lucea running well, but features may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or when a provider has an outage. We may update or discontinue features. If we stop providing the paid service, we will tell you in the app.
9. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent the law allows, Lucea is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any skin reaction or other outcome from products or routines you choose to use. Our total liability for any claim relating to Lucea is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim arose. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, such as for liability that cannot be excluded for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Ending use
You can stop using Lucea at any time. To remove your data, use Profile → "Delete all my data" and uninstall the app (see data deletion). Remember to cancel any subscription in your store settings.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory right you may have to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will let you know in the app. Continuing to use Lucea after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
